Edges are in a rough sawn state and may not be perfectly straight. Board widths may vary by 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
Adds stability to the material by drying it inside a kiln. Kiln drying the wood makes it far more resistant to moisture and staining. It takes it one step beyond cleaning and adds a layer of protection you need for your wood.
Boards will be sawn true to a trued width. A maximum of 1" will be cut off the edges to "True" the board. For Example a 6" wide board will become 5" wide board.
This edge milling requires 3 steps. First the boards are Straight Line Ripped to a (SLR) width (See above). Next they are planed or sawn to the desired thickness/ Lastly a tongue is added to one edge and a Groove is added to the other edge of the board. This process decreases the width by another, approximately 3/8". No board thinner than 1/2" can be (T&G).
Each board is planed and or cut to a desired thickness specified by the customer. to within +/- 1/32 of an inch.
Each board is coated with Odie's All Natural Oil Finish. This protects and seals the wood for years to come.
